hi machouse,
I am happy being notified here!
According country - I am from Lettonie.
According autmotives - I am from http://youngtimerrally.com/
Yes, it is R25 V6 Turbo with Z7U engine, 182hp. It is 433rd exemplary that left Sandouville marked as 25.
Once during our Youngtimers club event I looked under bonnet of Delorean and got interested about the engine. So I found out that R25 also had it too. At that time I was searching for something around 30 years old with good power. To have fun of renovation and to drive our regularity rallies for Historic class.
So in my eyes came this model and fortunatly I found two of them - make one driving. I am not mainstram men - therefor I liked to choose Renault (in our country everybody is fun bmw, audi, mb...).
I work fanatic on this car already second year. The body is renovated, suspension new, brakecirquits all new, seats renovated. Now I am at the engine workshop. One experienced motorist will help me, but before I am renovating several periferial elements and searching for parts to be replaced.
So I found this:
http://www.prv-concept.com/boutique/pro ... -7-v6-2-8/
http://www.prv-concept.com/boutique/pro ... -7-v6-2-8/

Are there available on that shop? Is this shop belonging to this forum?

Cordialements,

Yes this online shop is directly related to this forum, you can afford parts directly on it.

A piece of shit when you rebuild the engine is the wet cylinders. You absolutely need to remove the cylinders and replace the old gaskets.

If you don't do that correctly, you took the risk to disassemble the engine a second time... Otherwise this is a very strong engine !

I know what you mean when you say this is a painful job to rebuild a car for a new life on the road because I have done exactly the same and finished the job three years ago on mine.
You can check this out right there if you want to ;) : http://prv-concept.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=17

I love the Renault 25 because this is a very reliable and powerfull car since it came out from the factory !

Hi,
Thanks for advise. Your pictures are fascionating and motivating me You did fanatastic job with motour!
Actually I did also painted head-covers in blue :)
What I noted very interesting - is the tool you`e got for replacement of front springs. I did it in very complicated way - pressing springs before and locking with belts, then putting on place in car and cutting slowly the belts of with knife.
I am very affraid - where to find bottom gaskets for cilinder seats in motorblock. Also I do not find the cilinder-head gaskets. I am aware that the sealing of cilinders has been always chronic problem for all prv-s. I thing that deep as you did I will go with my second engine I have. It has definetly lower mileage and surely crankshaft is in better condition. But that car was staying outside 10 years in our climate and piston rings in 2-3 cilinders surely are stuck because of corrodation from air humidity.
Tomorrow I go to garage as always...
Cordialements,
Ainārs

You're welcome ! ;)

The tool required for the front spring is specific. But there is another tool that make the job: Facom has a spring compressor that works well ! I don't recommend to use another way or another tool to unload the springs (it may cause death)

You don't already find the cylinders gaskets ? Did you try Renault, Peugeot or Citroën ?
Also you can try this website : http://www.mespiecesauto.com and send an email to the boss (He also have the same car than us and can give you what you need).

Don't forget to post new pictures of you work ;)

Hello,
Yes, mespiecesauto I found while seeking for "tirant de chasse". So I learned that Alpina V6 Turbo has also partly very similar suspension with R25. So I have from mespiecesauto already somthin on my R25 :)
